Story time

For my first ever post I will give you a little story from my life (which I am sure most of you who read this already know, but oh well).

I am a 24 year old woman, wife, and mother. I was married in July of 2009 and much to my surprise got pregnant right away. I say it was a surprise simply because I was told at around 19 years of age that I would most likely never be able to conceive a child (due to certain health circumstances), but to my surprise and to that of my doctors I was pregnant (see, even doctors cannot put limitations on God). :)  Moving right along, although I was considered "high risk" I had a semi normal pregnancy which led to an extremely difficult delivery. I had consistent contractions for 2 weeks, but the doctors all side they were false since I was not dilating. Well the truth of the story is...I never did. I was induced at 39 weeks and labored for roughly 30 hours without even dilating 1 centimeter. ha. So, Jordan was delivered by c-section and was an astonishing 10 lb baby and even a week early. There was no way a size 2 woman was getting a 10 lb baby out naturally (well, at least not this woman). The c-section was used as a last resort because of my allergies to opiates which are used for pain control. By the end of that day I had been poked in the spine at least 5 times (a semi-epidural for the labor and a spinal block for the surgery). On the OR table I was throwing up out of no where and required a shot to stop the large amount of bleeding. After surgery all I could have due to my allergy was mortin and tylenol...I was a mess. haha. I had also lost a significant amount of blood but had unexplainable high blood pressure. One would think that with blood loss your blood pressure would be low, but I'm guessing that the amount of fluids given and uncontrolled pain was the cause. Well, two blood transfusions and nearly a week later we were able to take our beautiful baby boy home.

My son is now almost 8 months and is still huge. haha. I have been blessed beyond belief by my son, the one I was told I would never have, but prayed for earnestly.

And that is why I begin here at this story of my life, because everything about my motherhood is a miracle. A miracle that only God could have done. A miracle I believe only happened because of my faith in Him.

So friends, be encouraged that we serve a God far greater than we can ever imagine. A God that listens and cares for you deeply. A God that never changes and is always faithful. A God that is there at all times. A God that desires to give His children life filled with peace that surpasses all understanding. And so much more.

Here are two verses that come to mind:

Philippians 4:6- "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

Romans 8:28- "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose."

God is so good. Never put limitations on what He can do (my life lesson).
